Feeding program

Hot lunch is served to all children during school days. This is because many children come to school having missed breakfast and or slept on an empty stomach the night before. This has the effect that children are not able to cope with demanding schoolwork.  Besides other social factors school, drop-out is also linked to hunger in the families.

  • Free school lunch has helped sustain high enrolment numbers since its inception.
  • The availability of the lunch program has to some extent helped to boost children’s nutritional needs.
  • Feeding has helped boost retention and completion rates
  • Since 2004 the school has sustained a feeding program. In 2019 alone over 208,800 plates of hot lunch were served
